The entire Kindergarten team is excited for this year to begin. We have lots of exciting things planned and are preparing for our AMAZING year with you. :) We will see you at your Staggered Entry day. Thank you so much for your time. We wanted to answer all questions because we know how important your child's first year of school is and wanted to ease your minds a little. Should you have any other questions please use the "Contact Us" tab and send us a quick message. Have a wonderful summer!
- Staggered Entry Arrival/Dismissal: We are asking that all parents bring their child on their Staggered Entry Day at 9:00am for check in. We are trying to avoid using carpool, daycare, or bus transportation that day to prevent any confusion or anxiety for the little ones. You will need to park on the street and walk your child in. Please do not park in carpool line or any of the staff spots in the parking lot. You will need to hold your child's hand and walk carefully on the sidewalk then make your way to the sidewalk in front of the school and avoid the cars in carpool. Please enter the building using the main doors. You will then follow the hallway down towards the library. Once you reach the library you will turn left. You will then head up the hallway towards the K-1 wing. When you reach the top you will turn left again. Please stay on the left side of the hallway as not to interfere with 1st graders who are trying to get to their classrooms. You should see a table set up for check-in outside room #305 at this time. Please make a nice line and have your paperwork ready Ex. Information Sheet, Information Request, Blue Health Assessment, Up-To-Date Shot Records. (*Please note when you leave, the road in front of the school is ONE WAY. You will need to follow the road around to the right to exit. Here is a MAP for your convenience.) When you pick your child up (at 3:15pm), you will need to again park on the street out in front of the school (not the carpool line) and walk in to get your child. You will pick your child up at room #305 as well. Your child may start carpool or riding the bus on your child's first full day of school September 2, 2014. The hours for Staggered Entry are a little different so it is preferred for you to bring your child to the school and pick them up from school on this initial testing day. If you have any questions about transportation please use the "Contact Us" area to email us.
- When you come to room #305 you will need to bring the following items:
- Please complete it prior to your arrival and print it out on 1 page only for easy access during our day.
- Your Information Request Sheet (Found under the "Checklist for Staggered Entry" tab.)
- Your Blue Health Assessment from your doctor (If you have not already turned this in or it is expired.)
- Your Up-To-Date Shot Record (If you have not already turned this in.)
- Please remember to send the following items with your child on your Staggered Entry Day:

- Also, please remember to dress your child in shoes that he/she can run and play in because we will be going

- Snack: We eat lunch in the morning so snack will be in the afternoon. Please make sure you pack a water bottle or a cup for water along with your child's healthy snack. Please make sure your child knows where his/her snack is (backpack/lunchbox) because it is his/her responsibility. Once the students arrive they will place their backpacks/lunchboxes in a cubby for safe keeping. Please practice opening items with your child this summer so he/she is able to be successful during snack. Examples of healthy choices are: fruit, carrots, peanut butter crackers, cheese and crackers, etc.
- Medication: If your child requires medication at school you will need to have a form from your doctor explaining what the medicine is and the dosage required. We will not be able to keep any medicine at school unless you have this information. No medicine will be kept in the classroom. You will need to turn all medication in to the office along with your form. Parents usually place the medication and the form from the doctor in a Ziplock bag with the child's name and telephone number clearly printed on the outside.
- The Night Before: Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep before his/her Staggered Entry Day. This helps more than you know. :)
- Information Request: Under the Staggered Entry tab there is a button called "Checklist for Staggered Entry". There is a form at the bottom of that page for you to fill out information that we may need to know about your child. Here are examples of what we are asking for from this request:

- Meet the Teacher & Kindergarten Social: "Meet the Teacher" is on August 29th from 2:00pm - 3:00pm. You will find a class list at the front of the school that will tell you who your child’s teacher is. Then you will walk to the room to talk to your child’s teacher for a few minutes. You will receive information and may also be asked to fill out some information. The "Kindergarten Social" is also on that day from 2:10pm - 3:00pm. You will first go to your child's class and then go to the cafeteria for a special treat. This is a time where your child can meet some of the other Kindergarten students and you can meet some of the other parents.
